“Left”exhibition invites us to decenter migration studies by considering not just thedestinations, but what is left behind. This approach reveals a rich tapestry ofnarratives found in the midpoint of trajectories, open to diverseinterpretations.The poignant remnants of migration, focusing on the historicalexodus of Taiwanese workers to the Kaohsiung Export-Processing Zone in 1965 andthe contemporary journeys of Indonesian migrants to the same city. Theexhibition delves into the concept of ‘left,’ examining the physical and emotionaltraces that remain when people depart from their homes. Through anonymousphotographs discovered in the local flea markets, the artworks capturefragmented memories and lost moments, offering a glimpse into the lives ofthose who have moved.
