Convenience is a powerful force that shapes our decision-making, butit has both positive and negative aspects. Online shopping, social media, andconvenience stores are examples of convenience dominating industries, but theycan limit our freedom and choice. We must strive for a balance betweenconvenience and meaningful struggles. In Taiwan, convenience stores areprevalent, but they generate a significant amount of waste. One individuallaunched an "artistic practice" to reject convenience stores andfounded a group called the "Convenience Store Detox Association" tosolve addiction problems. However, the pursuit of convenience is developing fasterand faster in the post-pandemic era, infiltrating every aspect of people'slives and forming an alternative "addiction." The expansion of onlineand convenience stores is gradually swallowing up traditional industries orcommunity-based services, limiting people's choices. We should reflect on thecosts of convenience and think about how we can live in a world whereconvenience dominates everything.
