One hundred years is the limit of most human lives, and “A thousand years” is another name of the supernatural Lords in the folk belief system in Taiwan. It is believed that the Lords were incarnations of plague gods, heroic spirits, or unnamed dead, who executed their duty on behalf of the heavenly God and bring blessings or disasters to Humans. The characteristics of this faith are also inseparable from oceanic beliefs. Is the boundary between Human and God, the Ephemera and the Immortal, only the line between life and death?
